Changes and usual behavioral patterns

Within the framework of a change process the employees often work in an unsatisfying and unproductive environment until the transition into the new structure takes place.
What comes next? What will I become? Will my job still exist after this? What am I to do now? These are all questions with which employees are concerned. Two behaviors can be observed here:

  • Hibernation

I do not identify with the company any more, I  do my job according to what Is expected and follow the instructions of my superior

  • Operative hectic pace

The day is characterized by an excessive desire for action. Projects are generated. Everybody wants to be involved in everything, in order to appear productive and be seen in a favorable light. The quality of the work  can diminish  while trying to get a promotion.

Both behaviors are counterproductive and endanger the operative business. This is why it is better to acknowledge these patterns and to prevent them before they start.
