You are here: Turnaround    Fast acting

Fast acting is decisive

Crisis situations have to be tackled quickly and resolutely. Unfortunately it can be seen that this is not always the case. The following survey has revealed alarming facts, which unfortunately also correspond to our experiences.

How much time goes by until managers begin with the restructuring:

Immediately 10%
One year 33%
Two years 24%
Three years 12%
Four years 10%
Five and more years 11%

Thus 66% of the managers need more than one year before they start acting. This is definitively too long. The reasons may be diverse. It is the fear of having to admit problems of the company in the public, and there are personal weaknesses not wanting to see problems, to suppress them or it is fundamental optimism ("it will become better somehow"). The consequence is always the same: the turnaround begins with a delay and valuable - sometimes vital - time passes. Bankruptcy trustees confirm again and again that the turnaround course could have been successfully initiated if the entrepreneur had determined the course just a few months earlier.
